I can't wait for Thanksgiving break one to just go home and not have to be at school, two to relax even tho I think I have more homework to do while im at home than I have been doing at school
but three most importantly of all I cant wait to go home and see my horses! Especially because i bought one that I havent even seen in person yet and another one that I bought one weekend when I was home - bought on saturday but then had to leave sunday to come back to school.
Not to mention my other two, another mare and my gelding.
I'm looking forward to petting on them, loving on them, and seeing how pregnant my mares look! my gelding needs to get out and practice some things too, he was my show gelding.

My dog is usually happy when I come home too, but my new cat that I got this past winter still runs from me - guess im just not home enough for her to get use to me * sad face *

Happy Thanksgiving all!

miniature horses are great, but how on earth can anything that small have a foal? I know they do, but it seems almost incredable, the foals are so small!

I think they have the foal by C section its kinder for both concerned.
I'd love one at least if it misbehaves you have 1/2 a chance.

actually, the mares have their foals like any larger horse does. it's amazing though that they can have foals at all. I've seen a miniature horse foal, a falabella foal, and he was tiny!

you are joking christ! That has to hurt.
mind you if Isildur was a fallabella 1 would feel a whole lot safer.

well, small horses have small foals, but yes, i suppose foaling is painful.

Have any of you ever been to the Felabella Land of Little Horses, in Pensilvania? It is near Hershy, I believe. My father and I are on a mission to camp in each one of the fifty states, and when we visited Pensilvania we visited the Felabella horse farm and of course the Hershy factory. Some day, if I have the appropriate land I'd love to own a minature horse or two. They seem so responsive and intelligent. I'd also like to start riding again, on full sized horses. So little to do and so much time, no, strike that, revirse it. Who can tell me where that's from? I'll give you a rice crispy treat if you can. rofl

a quick update on the miniature horses. I recently went back to the riding stable where I used to ride/groom on a more perminant basis this time. they have two falabella horses, a mare and her foal. the mare, Silver, is sweet natured, her son, Mouse, is like a five year old, which he is, with no manners or respect! his behaviour is dreadful!

Oooh! I want a rice Crispy treat! *smile* "So little to do and so much time, no, strike that, revirse it." - Willy Wanka and the Chocolate Factory. That's one of my favorite quotes. I don't know much about horses and wouldn't have time to say anything about horses now anyway since I have to leave, but just had to answer that question. *smile*

Mouse is still being a pest, and his mum is just as sweet as ever. she even tried to groom me while I was grooming her yesterday. Apparently horses will groom those who are grooming them, quite sweet really.
